Frequently asked questions

Why is hexadecimal popular in programming?

One hex digit stands for exactly four binary digits, so long binary values become short and easy to read.

Can it convert negative numbers or fractions?

No. Use whole, non-negative numbers.

What does "Invalid number" mean?

The number contains a digit that does not exist in the base you selected, such as 2 in binary.
